MISSION STATEMENT

Whether it be from cultural upbringing, environment or emulation of  family members, unfortunately, too many women are not unified.  Frenemies, backbiting, in-fighting, betrayal and disloyalty have collectively or in part, played a role in this destructive and divisive behavior which is borne of insecurity, immaturity, jealousy (and its twin sister, envy), ignorance or obscured self-loathing - all of which have eradicated the fabric and bonds of our once strongly rooted sisterhood.

Women's Initiative for Self-empowerment (the WISE group) strives to strengthen the relationships between woman by foremost encouraging and foster positivity.   Our goal is to encourage women to educate, enlighten and empower themselves and each other through networking, fellowship, sharing knowledge, information, resources and experiences.  Our mantra is:  Each One - Teach One.

Regardless of education, background, race or socioeconomic status and despite differences in culture, persona and lifestyle, the  shared commonality of gender can be a starting point toward establishing or maintaining healthy, positive relationships with one another.  Instead of judging or rejection, we should try understanding and acceptance.  Instead of talking about each other; we should talk to each other.  Instead of tearing each other down; we should build each other up.  Being kind and considerate or showing patience and understanding or giving another woman a compliment takes nothing away from you.     As long as selfishness, inconsideration, jealousy, competition and other forms of negativity dominate women's behavior toward each other, there is no room for growth to establish and maintain good, healthy, positive relationships with other women and the first place to start is with yourself by remembering the age old rule, "treat others as you wish to be treated" and it's been said that how you make others feel about themselves- says a lot about you.

The WISE group strives to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood between women through camaraderie, fellowship, sharing, respect, trust and most of all through LOVE.
